Fresh from his triumph at the Winchester One-Ball last weekend, Rutger Beijderwellen swept to victory in the first Sidmouth Golf Croquet Open, losing only one of the sixteen games he played. Despite his relative inexperience of the game, he was able to use the strength and accuracy of his shooting to overcome those with a better understanding of the tactical nuances of golf croquet.

There were two blocks of seven, with all playing all twice. The block winners and runners-up then played a best-of-three knockout.
