Dave Mundy won the Cheltenham Easter tournamnet

[<<] [>>] by Nick Parish
26th March 2008 (AC)

The weather at Cheltenham was positively balmy by comparison with Pendle and Surbiton, with no snow settling on the lawns and no time lost to the weather. On the other hand a combination of at-zero temperatures, frequent driving hail, occasional sleet and blustery winds still made it by far the coldest tournament I have played at (it's the first time I have ever worn four jumpers at the same time playing croquet).

Dave Mundy won the Advanced, beating Don Gaunt in the final.

Andrew Willis won the consolation Egyptian

Nick Parish won the peeling prize.

The handicap blocks were still in play when I left.
