Here are the results of the Tyneside heat of the Ascot Cup (Golf Croquet Championships) held today 22 June 2003.

Four entries, two to qualify:

PHIL ERRINGTON (Belsay Hall) 3/3 from the main event.
DAVID TURNER (Tyneside) 1/3 from the main event, won the play-off to qualify.
JACQUI OLD (Tyneside) 1/3 from the main event, finished third.
KEVERNE PIPER (Belsay Hall) 1/3 from the main event, finished fourth.

All matches were 19-point, no time limits. No game lasted less than sixty minutes - many went to 7-7 and were sorted out from there.

JACQUI OLD beat KEVERNE PIPER 10-7
PHIL ERRINGTON beat KEVERNE PIPER 10-9
DAVID TURNER beat JACQUI OLD 10-8
PHIL ERRINGTON beat JACQUI OLD 10-6
KEVERNE PIPER beat DAVID TURNER 10-9

David Turner P3 W1 For 26 Agst 28 (-2)
Keverne Piper P3 W1 For 26 Agst 29 (-3)
Jacqui Old P3 W1 For 24 Agst 27 (-3)

The Play-off results were:

JACQUI OLD beat KEVERNE PIPER 10-8, putting Keverne 4th
DAVID TURNER beat JACQUI OLD 10-7, putting David 2nd (qualifying) and Jacqui 3rd.

Manager was Bruce Rannie. Thanks to Tyneside for hosting this heat of the Ascot Cup.

For the Ranelagh Cup, only PHIL ERRINGTON and KEVERNE PIPER entered the Tyneside heat, so not competition was necessary.
