Tim Russell v Guy Scurfield unfinished - 3-7

Roehampton beat Dulwich 5-1 on a rather cold and rainy summer evening at Roehampton, reversing last years result. Roehampton won the doubles fairly comfortably but both top singles games were close, with Reg very lucky to win his first game against Simon Carter having been down 6- 4. Reg drew level at 6-6 and then proceeded to leave both his balls short of the golden hoop, with his second ball nuzzling up behind his first ('saying hello' he called the shot!). Simon missed an angled jump soon after and Reg took his opportunity and won the second game comfortably.

Harry Fisher lost his first game to Pierre and the second looked like it was going the same way but he managed to turn things around to win at the golden hoop. The third game was somewhat more convincing with Harry in a hurry to catch a train.

Guy Scurfield was in good form beating Nick Yates in straight games with an impressive array of clearances and long hoop running, which continued in his unfinished match against Tim Russell. His game is well suited to Roehampton's lawns which were quick and true, despite significant rain through the day.
