Robert Alexander won the Ramsgate 'B' Advanced Weekend

23rd September 2003 (AC)

Twelve players participated in the inaugural Ramsgate 'B' Advanced Weekend, held in glorious weather under clear blue skies on fairly fast, flat lawns. The tournament was ably managed by the ever cheerful Mary Currie who ran it in 2 blocks, ensuring each player had 5 games plus a playoff match to determine overall positions. The final was an all Medway affair with Robert Alexander beating Paul Miles +26, while Ken Cooper (Bowdon) beat Roy Ware (Ramsgate) to win the Swiss.

The Ramsgate club should be congratulated on running a very friendly and enjoyable competition and would recommend all 'B' class players to consider it next year; we wish them well in the years to come.
